The difference between fully anechoic chamber and reverberation chamber testing

The six sides of the fully anechoic chamber are laid with wedge-shaped sound-absorbing materials to simulate a free-field environment. It is mainly used to measure the directivity of sound sources, sound power and frequency response of speakers. During the test, the microphones are arranged in an array at a certain distance to eliminate reflection interference.

The reverberation room is a large space with hard walls. The NRC value is calculated by measuring the change in reverberation time before and after the sound-absorbing material is placed, which reflects the overall sound absorption capacity of the material in the actual room. The combination of the two types of data can fully evaluate the performance of sound-absorbing panels.
